TMUGG is a casual gaming club, where gamers of all skill levels can interact, connect, compete and have fun. The club is open to all students within TMU and outside. TMUGG is all about building friendships and enjoying games together. The club hosts a variety of events, including orientations, booths, online tournaments, pub nights, and games nights. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a competitive one, TMUGG is the perfect place to meet like-minded people.

TMUGG x TMU Anime (Redesign)
Previously, TMUGG collaborated with TMU Anime to host a social night event, bringing together members from both clubs to connect and enjoy games together. During my interview process, I redesigned the TMUGG x TMU Anime collab event to demonstrate my design theory and vision.

TMUGG Reading Week
Every week, TMUGG hosts in-houses, where club members come together to play games. These in-house sessions can feature friendly matches against each other or team-based gameplay. A weekly schedule is posted, detailing which games will be hosted on which day, the time the event will take place, and the day of the week.

TMU Gamers Guild Club Fair
TMUGG held a club fair booth on the TMU campus, with the objective of attracting more members to the club. This graphic was created in response to the event to promote TMUGG. The club fair booth featured interactive challenges that students could attempt for prizes, merchandise for sale, and a banner signing station for our club. The booth club fair was a promotional key tool, increasing awareness of TMUGG within the campus community.

TMUGG Intro (Winter 2023)
Every semester, TMUGG posts introductions on Instagram of our club members. This semester, I was tasked with designing an introduction template for our team members. In the design brief, the objective of the design is to resemble Pokemon Sun and Moon. Using the colours and layout of the Pokedex from Sun and Moon, my design resembles the game but also informs viewers of our club members and their personalities.

TMUGG Intro (Summer 2024)
Valorant has blown up in popularity across the TMU campus, as valorant tournaments and watch parties are being held. Using the game's trending popularity, I was tasked with creating introduction posts for the summer semester of 2024. The key elements highlighted in the design brief were to keep valorant elements, use valorant-related colours, and have a similar font style. The design has a structured layout, with the club members' pictures and names taking priority, having their game interests and socials pop out, and lastly their quotes in a position to be read at the end of the design.

TMUGG Intro (Winter 2024)
During the winter semester of 2024, Overcooked 2 was a trending game amongst content creators on YouTube and Twitch. Inspired by the content creators, our club decided to have an Overcooked 2 theme introduction post. Combining Overcooked 2’s theme and TMUGG’s branding was a task handed to me. Using the elements of Overcooked 2, such as their spiky border, pelt-like pattern, sticker-like label, and different shades of blue, I combined it with TMUGG’s gaming background. TMUGG’s background consists of different game symbols. This introduction posts layout reads from the top left, down to the bottom right.

TMUGG Marvel Rivals Tourney
Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 third-person hero shooter game, consisting of characters from the Marvel series. It gained popularity at the end of 2024, and continuing onto 2025, many players within TMUGG’s community have requested a Marvel Rivals-related event. TMUGG decided to host a tournament within the community, with the hopes of pulling the largest amount of attendees ever before in an event. The Marvel Rivals tournament graphic was designated to me, with the vision of being similar to a Marvel comic book, while using TMUGG brand colours and elements. The tournament was a success, consisting of 50+ individuals signing up.

Summary
TMU UX is a UX design club where TMU students interested in the UX field can connect, learn, and grow. The club is open to all TMU students, offering oppurtunies to build connections, gain industry insights, and improve design skills. TMU UX hosts a variety of events, including networking events and design workshops, making it a perfect place for aspiring UX designer to interact with individuals in the field.

Branding Identity
During the start of the winter 2024 semester, TMU UX decided to change its branding indentity. The president wanted a more professional feel, and darker theme. The design team, consisting of the VP of design and design associates, were tasked with creating a new brand identity for TMU UX. Using FigJam to ideate a brand identity, we explored various colour palettes and typography to align with the clubs new branding direction. After multiple iterations and feedback sessions between the design team and the presidents, the design team finalized a sleek, professional, and modern design that reflects TMU UX’s new branding direction.

Understanding UX Design
At the start of the semester, TMU UX planned a large number of events. The club's goal is to expand its reach and engagement within TMU. To attract a larger audience, TMU UX’s first post was aimed at those interested in UX but unsure where to start. This post is as a gateway for new members. The presidents and VP of design created a design brief, requesting an Instagram carousel post, using brand colours, while holding a professional, simple, and sleek aesthetic.

Meet The Team
With TMU UX welcoming an almost entirely brand new team, the club decided to introduce its new members through a “Meet The Team” Instagram post. The design team was responsible for creating the design layout and visual aesthetic for the introduction posts, ensuring an engaging post. The design request included five departments, each presented through an Instagram carousel, providing a clear and visually appealing way for people to get to know the new team.
